Responsibilities

  • Coach and oversee the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team (Spring season).
  • Teach athletes skills, techniques, rules, regulations, and team policies.
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Be responsible for the general health and welfare of student-athletes and address injuries with the Athletic Trainer.
  • Coordinate activities in preparation for scheduled competition.
  • Attend practices, home and away contests, and athletic department staff meetings.
  • Monitor student-athlete academic performance with the Director of Athletics.

Our programs provide a positive experience in which student-athletes learn the core values of commitment, community, integrity, respect, accountability, and passion.Position SummaryThe primary responsibility of this position is to teach, coach, advise, supervise, and care for student-athletes. This position will also work in partnership with parents, advocate and promote the School, and work collegially with administrators and fellow teachers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following)Coach and oversee the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team (Spring season).Embrace the School’s athletic philosophy while helping students develop their understanding of the core values.Strive for competitive excellence while growing and building the Girls Lacrosse culture in our community.Teach athletes skills, techniques, rules, regulations, and team policies. Ensure compliance with rules and regulations.Be responsible for the general health and welfare of student-athletes and give appropriate attention to student-athletes who are injured or ill. This includes communicating all injuries to the Athletic Trainer.Partner with the Athletic Trainer to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting team activities.Be responsible for the actions and conduct of the team whenever they are under your supervision.Work with the Director of Athletics to select and schedule team contests.Work within budgetary guidelines established by the Finance department and the Director of Athletics.Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition.Attend all team practices and home and away contests.Work with the Director of Athletics to monitor student-athlete academic performance.Attend appropriate athletic departmental staff meetings.Understand and uphold the guidelines in the coaching manual and the parent and player athletic handbook.Assist the Director of Athletics in any activities and events as needed.Qualifications (minimum requirements)Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred3+ years of girls lacrosse coaching experience3+ years of experience as a coach; 5 years preferredCollegiate level athlete or higher preferredCurrent involvement in coaching club lacrosse is preferredPreferred SkillsThe School seeks to hire someone who takes initiative and responsibility for developing, nurturing, and growing our Girls Lacrosse program. A strong candidate will be extremely organized and will have the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments. Additionally, they should be prepared to work on a high-performing team and have demonstrated the ability to maintain a positive attitude in all situations. They should also be able to communicate effectively with all school constituents and display strong, positive interpersonal skills.General ScheduleFebruary-May, Practices and Games Monday – Friday 3:30-5:30 PM. (some weekends and extended hours may be required)Pay Rate$19 per hourTotal season earnings $3,000 - $5,000
