Job summary

The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) seeks an Assistant Alpine Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Teams to energize practices and drive performance on the slopes in Maine. This part-time/temp role offers a $3,000 stipend prorated by hire date and runs from October 15 to April 15.

You will recruit, plan dynamic workouts, manage travel logistics, and foster a fast-paced, inclusive team culture with strong communication and integrity.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with sports skills and principles to teach and provide feedback for alpine ski racing.
  • Valid driver's license (in good standing, based on UMS standards).
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends for practices and competitions.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and integrity; strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Typical calendar: October 15 - April 15

Required Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with sports skills and principles to teach and provide feedback for alpine ski racing
  • Valid driver's license (in good standing, based on UMS standards)
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends for practices and competitions.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and integrity; strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Previous collegiate competitive or coaching experience, particularly in Alpine skiing.
  • Experience with sports recruiting.
