Assistant Clinical Director (Registered Nurse)

Position Overview

The Assistant Clinical Director is responsible for leading and managing regional staff, including the interdisciplinary teams (IDT), reporting to the Clinical Director. They oversee the implementation, delivery, coordination, and supervision of hospice services in accordance with company policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Participating in and leading regular IDT meetings
  2. Reviewing and updating patient/family care plans
  3. Serving on the clinical management team to address service delivery issues, staff development needs, and policy improvements
  4. Supervising medical record maintenance for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  5. Reviewing clinical data and monitoring care plan completion
  6. Submitting corrective plans following audits or surveys
  7. Ensuring documentation standards are met and providing staff counseling when necessary
  8. Conducting supervisory visits for performance evaluation
  9. Developing relationships with accounts and providing staff education
  10. Providing required in-services to contracted facilities and maintaining documentation
  11. Arranging team coverage for on-call duties and staff time off
  12. Providing leadership for staff development
  13. Meeting budgeted census, admissions, and referral conversion goals
  14. Engaging in community education and regional development activities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • State Certified RN license
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, hospice experience preferred
  • CHPN certification is a plus
  • Valid Driver's license, reliable transportation, willingness to travel
  • Strong communication skills
