Summary
The Assistant Clinical Director(ACD) is an experienced Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who will play a key leadership role in elevating the quality of services across our adult day habilitation and residential programs. This new, full-time position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a robust, organization-wide training and competency model focused on skill acquisition, Positive Behavior Supports (BPS), and data-driven decision-making. The ACD will be instrumental in driving excellence in clinical practices, improving client outcomes, and enhancing operational efficiencies through high-quality staff development initiatives. As a PBS Qualified Clinician, the ACD will also assist with conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, designing Behavior Support Plans, and sharing behavioral expertise to support the organization.
Essential Job Functions
·Develops and delivers a structured training curriculum focused on PBS/ABA principles tailored to adult day habilitation and residential services
·Provides ongoing training for direct support professionals (DSPs) and frontline supervisors in areas such as behavior support, skill acquisition strategies, goal development, data collection, de-escalation techniques, and best teaching practices
·Conducts competency assessments, skills refreshers, and ongoing coaching sessions using evidence-based PBS/ABA principles
·Partners closely with PBS Leadership to embed a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement throughout the organization
·Reviews individual data trends to identify gaps and deliver targeted, in vivo feedback to staff to drive goal achievement
·Assists with supervision and training of Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists in PBS/ABA methodologies
·Supports the Clinical Director by acting as the secondary clinical lead during emergencies, staffing crises, or concurrent clinical meetings
·Assists in the oversight and compliance of behavior support plans, ensuring fidelity in training, monitoring, and documentation
·Drives improvements in documentation, data collection, skill acquisition programming, goal writing, prompt fading, error correction, and reinforcement procedures
·Contributes to audits, compliance reviews, and ensure alignment with funding mandates and DDS regulatory updates
·Designs behavior support plans following the framework of PBS
·Assists with the completion of behavior and safety assessments for MassHealth funding
·Assists in the support and ongoing training of staff in the use of Motivity digital data collection system
·Collaborates with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and the highest quality of care
·Applying PABC principles, serves as a role model and coach to program managers and direct care staff relative to implementation of supportive behavioral techniques
·Participates in clinical and staff meetings, ISP meetings, intake meetings, and other relevant meetings as assigned
·Serves as member of the Professional Interdisciplinary Team
·Serves as a member of the agency PBS leadership team
·Serves as a mandated reporter as required by the Disabled Persons Protection Commission
·Processes all human rights issues, incident, and accident reports in a timely manner according to agency policy/procedure
·Ensures the human rights of program participants are safeguarded in all interventions
·Fosters and maintains positive relationships with families, participants and staff and informs supervisor of significant and/or unresolved issues
·Acts in a manner consistent with organizational values, program mission, and service delivery goals. Serves as a resource and role model for staff
·Adheres to the BACB’s Professional and Ethical Compliance Code
·Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor as they relate to the duties in this job description
·Position requires some (less than daily) local travel using personal vehicle (eligible for mileage reimbursement)

Education and Experience
·Master's Degree in ABA, Psychology, Education, or related field.
·Massachusetts LABA required
·3+ years of experience as a BCBA in applied setting required
·5+ years of experience and training/leadership experience preferred
·Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
·Ability to multitask
·Skilled and efficient scientific writer
·Demonstrable skills in BSP design
·Empathetic and compassionate approach
·Experience with digital data collection systems preferred (Motivity experience a plus)
·Interest and passion for applying the science of ABA to a wide-ranging population of individuals
Computer Skills
Demonstrated proficiencyin use of e-mail, the Internet, and have strong Microsoft Suite skills.
Analytical Skills
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, handle emergencies, and successfully manage several projects simultaneously.
Language Skills
Mastery of the English language requiredas demonstrated by the ability to read and write instructions, ability to read, analyze, and interpret field and/or professional journals, technical procedures, policy and procedure manuals and governmental regulations. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Individuals, families, staff or the general public.Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written instructions. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively facilitate meetings.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
·Current First Aid and adult CPR certification required within first 6months on the job; thereafter employee is expected to remain current.
·PABC training within first 6 months on the job; thereafter employee is expected to remain current.
