The City of Rutland seeks an Assistant City Treasurer to act as chief accountant, supporting the City Treasurer with cash flow, investments, bookkeeping and revenue collection. The role requires independent work, prioritizing tasks and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities include managing the general ledger, reviewing daily transactions, supporting auditors, and coordinating with departments on financial issues. Travel for training may be required.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Administration or Accounting.
• Associate’s Degree plus 3 years of relevant government accounting experience.
• High school diploma with 5 years of relevant office experience.

Responsabilidades

• Operate as chief accountant for the City of Rutland and assist City Treasurer with fiscal duties.
• Manage General Ledger and chart of accounts; post daily activity and reconcile ledgers.
• Review banking, ACH deposits, and tax/receivable adjustments; prepare periodic financial reports.
