Job summary

City of West Fargo is seeking an Assistant City Engineer to support the City Engineer in planning, design, and operation of Municipal Engineering Services. The role requires leading the department in absence of the City Engineer and coordinating with other departments and the public.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, eight years of relevant experience, North Dakota PE licensure, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Eight years of relevant engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of North Dakota.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with the City Engineer to establish priorities, goals, and objectives for the Engineering Department.
• Reviews design and construction documents for public infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepares and presents engineering reports to city boards, commissions, and the public.
• Coordinates with Public Works to establish infrastructure needs and priorities and provide technical support.
