  • Valid state-issued driver’s license or ability to obtain one on hire.

Job description

Under limited direction, the Assistant City Engineer supports the City Engineer in planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the Capital Improvement Program Department. This position coordinates infrastructure and capital improvement projects with City departments, agencies, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders; provides executive-level oversight of engineering and public works operations; manages large municipal capital programs; directs multidisciplinary teams; administers consultant contracts; ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and engineering standards; and presents updates and recommendations to executive leadership, elected officials, advisory boards, and the public. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, eight years of progressively responsible civil engineering and public infrastructure experience, including at least five years in a senior leadership or supervisory role, a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or the ability to obtain Texas registration within six months of hire, and a valid state-\u2019issued driver’s license or the ability to obtain one upon hire. PAY GRADE EN33 / FULL PAY RANGE $11,000 - $15,506 PER MONTH
