Job summary

Chroma Early Learning Academy in Grayson, GA is seeking an Assistant Childcare Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in daily care and learning activities for young children.

You will help implement an age-appropriate curriculum, maintain a safe classroom, document milestones, and communicate with families while following health and safety guidelines and participating in trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Pass a background check.
• CPR/First Aid certification current or willing to obtain within 30 days.
• Meet all Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.

• Assist the Lead Teacher in day-to-day care of the children in the classroom.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.
• Support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
• Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
• Follow licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.

Responsibilities may include assisting with lesson preparation, maintaining a clean and organized space, monitoring behavior, and communicating effectively with staff and families. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and passionate about early childhood education, with a willingness to collaborate and adapt in a dynamic childcare setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED Required
• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to Pass a Background Check
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.
• Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.

Nice To Have

• Teaching/Childcare 1 Year (Preferred)
• In progress, or willingness to obtain CDA, TCC, or paraprofessional.
