Job summary

Chroma Early Learning Academy is seeking an Assistant Childcare Teacher to support lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing environment for young children. You will help implement age-appropriate activities promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development, while supervising all children in the classroom.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 18 years of age, and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in day-to-day care of children.
• Maintain a safe, clean, engaging classroom aligned with Georgia DECAL standards.
• Support implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum for sensory, communication, and motor development.
• Observe and document developmental milestones; communicate with families.
• Follow licensing guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and Quality Rated training.

Job description

At Chroma Early Learning Academy, an Assistant Childcare Teacher supports lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. Responsibilities may include assisting with lesson preparation, maintaining a clean and organized space, monitoring behavior, and communicating effectively with staff and families. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and passionate about early childhood education, with a willingness to collaborate and adapt in a dynamic childcare setting.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day care of the children in the classroom.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.
• Support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
• Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
• Follow all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.
• Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance.
