This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

Job Summary

This position will also oversee all project and technology initiatives of the department, ensuring that projects are implemented according to plan and the quality of the final product is high. The Assistant Chief, Security Program Management & Technology is responsible for the development and implementation of the Office of Security's Capital Program and all department technology platforms, certifications, and validation of technologies. The Assistant Chief, Security Program Management & Technology will create, develop, and manage the department's capital program, including the determination of project scope, budget requirements, and scheduling, as well as the development of all agency-required program documentation including technical statements of work (TSOW), requests for proposal (RFP's), and other contract supporting documentation (estimates, force account/third party labor assignments, etc.). This position will coordinate these efforts with 0MB, SI, and LIRR DPM. Assistant Chief, Security Program Management & Technology will be the lead contact for all technology needs required to support all LIRR video and access management operations and will research and pilot new and emerging technologies and evaluate alternative solutions, system upgrades and efficiencies from a technical and economic perspective and propose solutions and develop, test, monitor and certify security systems and ensure security systems and infrastructure are properly supported, maintained, and documented. This position will also collaborate with the Assist Chief, Security Operations and LIRR operating departments (i.e. Transportation, Engineering, Stations, etc.) to ensure all security and operational needs are met. This position will assist the Chief Security Officer in managing, planning, developing and coordinating the establishment of goals and developing and implementing security technology standards, policies, and practices to ensure conformance with federal, state and local regulations and MTA directives. This position represents LIRR at both technical and policy-level meetings with operational and administrative departments, MTA and other agencies, law enforcement agencies, contractors, (i.e. Security Systems Committee, Security Maintenance and Governance Committee).
