The Ohio State University is seeking an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor in the Engineering department at University Airport. This role supports the FAA Part 141 program, assists the Chief Flight Instructor with administration of Flight Education, and oversees instructors, safety, and student progression.
Responsibilities include flight and classroom instruction, checks and exams, standardization of checks, and coordination of crew and aircraft scheduling.
This position performs the duties and responsibilities of FAA Assistant Chief Flight Instructor as required by FAA Regulations Part 141; assists Chief Flight Instructor in administration of Flight Education; supervises Flight Instructors; develops and monitors flight safety programs; provides flight and classroom instruction; conducts stage checks, progress checks and final flight tests; provides Flight Instructor initial and annual standardization of oral and practical checks; assures instruction quality and student progress/completion, including exams and check-rides; provides flight and classroom instruction; coordinates and schedules personnel and aircraft; Additional Information: This position must be on call for emergencies for all operational hours of the Flight School; will have alternating schedule with other Assistant Chief and Chief Flight Instructors;
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required: Meets qualifications for FAA Part 141 Assistant Chief Flight Instructor; instructional activity within the previous 24 months and experience with a flight school certified through 14 FR Part 141
Experience: Required: 3 years of relevant experience required
The target hiring range for this job profile is $55,700 - $72,700. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
