Job summary

The University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK, seeks a Flight Instructor to join its aviation program. In addition to instructional duties, you will coordinate and schedule training activities and support daily flight operations through dispatch functions.

You will operate FAST flights and contribute to recruitment and promotional efforts for the program. You will also help develop new courses and training materials, and assist with basic preventive maintenance of the university’s aircraft fleet.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience.
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor License required.
• FAA Class II medical required.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule training activities and support daily flight operations through dispatch functions.
• Operate faculty/staff transportation flights (FAST flights) as needed.
• Support recruitment and promotional efforts for the aviation program.
• Develop new courses and training materials for pilots and instructors.
• Support basic preventive maintenance of the university’s aircraft fleet.

Position Introduction:

In addition to instructional duties, the Flight Instructor plays a key role in coordinating and scheduling training activities, supporting daily flight operations through dispatch functions, and operating faculty/staff transportation flights (FAST flights). This position also contributes to the advancement of the aviation program by assisting with recruitment and promotional efforts, developing new courses and training materials, and supporting basic preventive maintenance of the university’s aircraft fleet.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

• FAA Certified Flight Instructor License
• Must have and maintain FAA Class II medical
• Valid driver's license
