Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, public administration, business, finance, or related field.
• Eight years of progressively responsible experience in public administration, budget development, financial, audit, or business management.
• Two years of management experience leading staff, presenting to governing bodies or executive leadership, and leading major projects.
• Valid driver's license and County driver eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational oversight and strategic leadership over the Department of Finance and Budget offices.
• Serve as Acting CFO in the CFO's absence.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in public administration, budget development, financial, audit, or business management , or a related field.
• Two (2) years of management experience leading staff, addressing complex organizational issues, presenting to governing bodies or executive leadership, and leading significant projects or strategic initiatives.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to meet the County's driver eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CGFM, CPFO, CMA, or similar credential.
• Experience in local government finance, budgeting, accounting, auditing, treasury management, grants administration, or financial operations.
• Experience presenting complex financial information to elected officials, executive leadership, and community stakeholders.
• Experience leading organizational change, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
