Job summary

CBRE in Dallas, TX seeks an Assistant Chief Building Engineer to lead day-to-day operations of a premier Class A office property. This day-shift role blends hands-on technical leadership with strategic maintenance planning, ensuring facilities run at peak efficiency and reliability.

You will supervise a skilled team, develop preventive maintenance programs, review service requests, and coordinate safe, compliant operations while coaching others and upholding CBRE's standards of excellence.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required with relevant experience.
  • Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Able to operate CMMS and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage shift operations, assign work orders, and provide training to coworkers and subcontractors.
  • Review monthly tenant service request summaries to identify recurrent issues.
  • Develop a preventative maintenance program for machinery and systems.
  • Inspect systems to ensure operation within normal parameters.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and tools and order materials as needed.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance and downtime to minimize business disruption.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance, documenting records.
  • Respond to emergency situations and coordinate additional support.
  • Coach others and lead by example to uphold CBRE standards.

In this day-shift position supporting a premier Class A office property in Dallas, TX you’ll guide daily operations, shape preventative maintenance strategies, and lead a talented team to keep state-of-the-art facilities operating flawlessly. What You’ll Do
  • Manage shift operations, assign work orders, and provide training to coworkers and subcontractors

What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid Driver's License required.
  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more

  • Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the
  • business
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience working in a CMMS.
  • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset
  • Highly sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate somewhat complex figures such as percentages,
  • fractions, and other financial-related calculation
