JLL is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Center Facilities in Amarillo, TX. You will work with the Chief Engineer to oversee facility operations, manage technical teams, and optimize data center performance, reliability, and efficiency.

As an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Center Facilities at JLL, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mission‑critical data center environments. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer to oversee facility operations, manage technical teams, and implement strategies to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency of data center infrastructure.
Assisting in the management and coordination of data center facility operations and maintenance activities
Supervising and mentoring technical staff, including engineers, technicians, and contractors
Monitoring and analyzing critical systems performance, including power, cooling, and network infrastructure
Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements
Preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and clients
Be the first point of contact for service impacting events involving the electrical distribution system.
Assist the team in troubleshooting and mitigating incidents.
Assist in the creation of root cause analysis (RCAs).
Be available for after‑hours support regarding the electrical distribution systems.
This includes 24x7 responses.
Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices (e.g., ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute)
Proficiency in using facility management software and building automation systems
Valid certification in at least one relevant area (e.g., CDCP, DCPRO, or equivalent)
Experience with energy efficiency initiatives and sustainable data center practices
