Chess Wizards seeks enthusiastic, reliable Assistant Instructors to support our after-school chess program in Kennesaw, GA. You will help run a class for 15–22 elementary students, provide individual support, and reinforce a positive, structured learning environment.

Join a team that offers training, full curriculum, and opportunities to advance to Chess Instructor. Work is flexible with classes scheduled on weekday afternoons, and mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between schools.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or similar is a plus.
• Strong chess fundamentals; explain moves clearly to kids.
• Ability to follow directions and support classroom management.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chess Instructor in setting up and running a 15–22 student class.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support for practicing moves and concepts.
• Support activities, keep students engaged, reinforce positive behavior.
• Follow the curriculum and promote good sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively, safe classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrivals, dismissals, and activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for sessions.
• Arrive prepared and on time, ready to engage students.
