Job summary

Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas is seeking an Assistant Chef to support culinary management across all stations, focusing on cost control, inventory, and food requisitions. Candidates should have at least 3 years in culinary management, strong English, and knife skills; a culinary degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of culinary management experience in a similar role.
• Must obtain/maintain licensing including Food Manager Certification; valid health card required.
• English fluency in speaking, reading, and writing; second language is a plus.
• Culinary degree preferred, but not required.
• Must demonstrate knife skills and kitchen operation management.
• High standards of quality, creativity, speed, and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure, think clearly, and use good judgement.
• Strong prioritization, organization, and follow-through to meet deadlines and schedules.
• Creativity in plate presentation and ongoing product/menu research.
• Ability to direct and lead staff and work well in a team.
• Knowledge of/ exposure to a union environment preferred.
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operational Management includes maintaining Wynn food quality standards.
• Monitor and improve consistency of food quality to enhance the customer experience.
• Ensure staff have access to standards and policies for a safe workplace.
• Identify, rectify and report actual/potential safety issues promptly.
• Encourage team participation in decision making to share responsibility.
• Identify best practices and measure quality and efficiency as benchmarks.
