Job summary

Bishop Blanchet High School is seeking an Assistant Cheer Coach to support the Varsity Cheer Program under the Varsity Head Coach. This role provides guidance, instruction, and leadership to student-athletes, promoting school spirit, safety, and sportsmanship during fall and winter seasons.

Responsibilities include coaching techniques, planning practices, coordinating game-day routines, traveling with the team, and assisting with team administration and fundraising.

Qualifications

• At least one year of coaching or participation in competitive cheerleading, gymnastics, or dance.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (can be obtained within six months).
• Valid Stunt Certification (preferred; within six months).
• Successful completion of WIAA Coaches Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coaching, training, and conditioning student-athletes for performances and events.
• Support Varsity Cheer team practices and game-day performances.
• Plan and supervise scheduled practices, workouts, and team-building activities.
• Attend and coach at Varsity contests and school spirit events; travel with the team.
• Coordinate game-day routines, crowd engagement, and sideline organization.
• Assist with management of uniforms, equipment, and fundraising efforts.
