Job summary

The Save Mart Companies is recruiting for an Assistant Center Store Manager at Food Maxx in Pinole, CA. The role oversees Front-End, Night Crew, Frozen/Dairy/Deli, and Evening areas, ensuring service, inventory, and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities include coaching associates, controlling shrink, maintaining price integrity, and coordinating store operations when management is absent. Requires prior retail supervisory experience and flexibility with hours.

Qualifications

• One year of college (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience)
• Minimum six months as Key Carrier or nine months as Perimeter Department Manager or equivalent
• Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours and rotate across Front-End, Night Crew, Frozen/Dairy/Deli, and Evening areas

Responsibilities

• Provides customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating, training, and holding store associates accountable for excellent customer service
• Contributes to gross profit goals through price integrity, shrink control, ordering and product management
• Directly leads associates in the assigned area with focus on accountability and performance
• Develops and trains associates; completes supervision reports and fosters a collaborative environment
• Effectively utilizes resources to improve productivity and labor efficiency while maintaining shopping quality
• Oversees cold chain and manages shrink for the area
• Responsible for price integrity and cleanliness/sanitation of the store
• Oversees front-end operations when store is open and in absence of Store Manager/Assistant Manager
