Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Director in Morehead City, NC to help lead a center where children thrive and families feel at home. You will work with the Center Director to manage daily operations, support your teaching team, and ensure the center runs safely and in full compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education with NC Level 2 Admin Credential.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with families and staff.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and staffing to keep center running smoothly.
• Partner with Center Director to supervise teaching staff and ensure program quality.
• Complete compliance and reporting requirements (USDA and agency paperwork as applicable).
• Prepare and maintain compliance documentation on a regular basis.
• Engage with families through tours and routine communications; escalate complex issues to Director.
• Provide onboarding and coaching for new hires; cover supervisory duties in Director's absence.
• Open and close the center as assigned.
