Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Buyer in New York to source, select, and procure products for store assortment. You will drive the buying process, negotiate with vendors, and help set competitive prices to maximize value for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Ability to travel to trade shows, including overnight stays.
• Ability to work day shift regularly, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills; ability to effectively communicate with all team members, guests, and vendors.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks within strict timeframes and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the buying process to ensure purchase of the best products at the best price.
• Work closely with vendors to support the buying process.
• Attend trade shows to stay informed of new products and ideas.
• Research products and markets for proper prices and placement of goods.
• Recommend selling prices for merchandise, deals and buys.
• Develop allocation plans to increase sales.
• Provide support on various projects within the Buying department.
• Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.
