Job summary

Ollie's Bargain Outlet is seeking an Assistant Buyer to work with Buyers on sourcing, selecting, and procuring products for stores. You will initiate and direct various aspects of the buying process to secure best products at the best price.

Responsibilities include supporting the buying process, collaborating with vendors, attending trade shows, researching products and markets, recommending selling prices, and developing allocation plans to drive sales while handling data and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Ability to travel to trade shows, including overnight stays.
• Ability to work day shift regularly, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills; communicate with team members, guests, and vendors.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks within strict timeframes and deadlines.
• High urgency and energy level; capable of handling data with accuracy.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the buying process to ensure best products at best price.
• Work with vendors to support the buying process.
• Attend trade shows to stay informed on new products and ideas.
• Research products and markets for proper prices and placement of goods.
• Recommend selling prices for merchandise, deals and buys.
• Develop allocation plans to increase sales.
• Support the department and present products for advertising.
• Analyze and monitor sales records, trends, and economic conditions.
• Provide support on various projects within the Buying department.
• Complete additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
