Job summary

Burlington is seeking an Assistant Buyer in California to help select and procure merchandise, analyze category performance, and build strong vendor relationships. You’ll participate in market visits, negotiate pricing, and support the Buyer to ensure products meet our profit plan.

You will manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and communicate with multiple teams. This role offers a hybrid model with in-office, market shopping, and some remote days, with relocation benefits for eligible

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or related field.
• Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
• Data-driven with vendor relation experience.

Responsibilities

• Select and procure merchandise with Buyer to meet profit plans.
• Analyze performance and deliver insights on category performance.
• Attend market visits and vendor appointments to select assortments and negotiate pricing.
• Build win/win vendor relationships and follow up on orders.
• Manage email streams and communicate updates to managers.
• Track receipts and negotiate late shipping discounts.
• Manage full cycle of merchandise orders from entry to delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
