  • Assist with fee rules and assessment, systems implementation and maintenance.
  • Complete submodule reconciliations and reporting.
  • Manage third‑party contract and billing.
  • Manage student health insurance program.
  • Hire, train, assign, direct, evaluate and manage cashier and student worker positions.
  • Serve as backup/leadership support for other departments.

Job Summary

The Assistant Bursar supports overall operations of the Office of the Bursar by assisting in managing student accounts, collections, and cashiering functions for Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC). This position ensures accuracy and compliance in financial transactions and reporting while maintaining a high standard of customer service to students, parents, and campus partners. The Assistant Bursar exercises sound judgment and technical expertise to resolve complex account issues, implement process improvements, and represent the department in meetings and collaborative initiatives. The role also involves coordination with external partners, including working one day per week at Clayton State University as part of a shared service arrangement. The position supervises a cashier and student workers, providing leadership in the day‑to‑day management of receivables, payment processing, and reconciliation activities. The Assistant Bursar supports fiscal planning, monitoring, and policy implementation to ensure efficient business operations within the Student Accounts area.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree

Required Experience: Three (3) years of related experience

Must have a valid Georgia Driver's License or be able to travel to other institutions.

Proposed Salary

$53,000 - $66,000 annually
