Job summary

The Town of Mansfield seeks an Assistant Building Official to manage complex code enforcement and supervise staff. This full-time position reports to the Director of Building and Housing Inspection and may act in their absence.

Work at the Audrey Beck Municipal Building; 35 hours per week; requires high school diploma and relevant experience; ICC exams required within one year; valid driver's license; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license; equivalent experience considered for the role.
• Completion of ICC Building Inspector exam and Code Enforcement exam within one year of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the Connecticut Building code, housing code and related town ordinances.
• Act as Acting Director of Building and Housing Inspection in the Director's absence.
• Supervise professional, technical, and clerical staff as assigned.
