We are seeking an Assistant Broker to join our growing team in Stockton, CA.
Assists the Brokers by reviewing insurance applications, inspections, and other pertinent information to evaluate, classify, and rate individuals and groups for insurance by performing the following duties:
How You Will Contribute:- Examines documents such as application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps, and medical reports to determine the degree of risk from factors such as applicant financial standing, age, occupation, accident experience, and value and condition of property.
- Work with Brokers to ensure that all required information is obtained, proper applications are completed, quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, and state filings (where applicable) are made.
- Prepare quotes, binders, and SLA filings as needed or directed by the Broker.
- Provide full assistance and support for the sales and production process in the department.
- Work with Brokers when reviewing risks submitted by Producers, rate submissions for premium and terms, and issue written binders.
- Assist Broker with developing and cultivating carrier and brokerage relationships to place specific risks and grow a book of business.
- Review indications, quotes, binders, submissions, and policies for completeness and high accuracy.
- Understand and extend Company facilities, brokering risks when required to successfully negotiate a placement.
- Become thoroughly familiar with the use of all agency management software systems and suggest labor-saving uses to the Department Leader.
- Issuance and/or re-issuance of Certificates of Insurance.
- Work with the Brokers to ensure the forms, terms, and conditions on the policies are consistent with quotes and binders.
- Provide telephone assistance to Producers, answering basic questions or referring them to a Broker when necessary.
Licenses And Certifications:Skills & Experience To Be Successful:- Minimum Education required: HS diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Exceptional telephone demeanor.
- 1-3 years’ experience in a similar insurance support position.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a business or financial-related discipline (preferred).
- Pursuing a CIC or CPCU designation, or similar insurance coursework (preferred).
Pay Range: $22.00 - $30.00 Hourly
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
