Job summary

White Cap is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to lead branch sales and operations, coordinate procurement, inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehousing, and overall branch profitability. The role supports the Branch Manager and requires 5+ years of experience with strong leadership and operations knowledge.

Proficiency with sales order software (Oracle) and Windows applications is preferred. The position may require operating a company or personal vehicle with an MVR check.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in branch operations or management.
• Experience coordinating procurement, inventory control, shipping and receiving.
• Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks and drive branch profitability.

Responsibilities

• Support talent acquisition, development, and retention of branch sales and operations staff.
• Manage the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence; assist in strategizing sales and profitability.
• Coordinate procurement, inventory control, warehousing, and sales per policies.
• Resolve customer complaints related to damaged items, overcharges, or delays; adjust resources as needed.
• Oversee billing, scheduling, budgeting, and variances; assist counter and inside sales as required.

An Assistant Branch Manager at White Cap…

• Support the talent acquisition, development, and retention of branch sales and operations associates.
• Manages the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence. Assists the manager in developing strategies to drive branch sales and profitability.
• Assists with the coordination of procurement, inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehousing, and sales in accordance with the policies, principles, and procedures established by the organization.
• Solves problems at the branch level. Investigates customer complaints involving matters such as damaged items, overcharges, and shipment/delivery delays. Makes necessary resource adjustments.
• Manages operational branch level problems, investigates inventory discrepancies, and makes adjustments as required.
• Serves customers and supports the counter and inside sales functions as necessary. Ensures all sales orders are billed correctly and in a timely manner. Schedules staff and analyzes budgets and variances.
• Generally has 5+ years of experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• This position requires operation of a company vehicle, or a personal vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience preferred.
• Experience with sales order computer software, preferably Oracle.
• Knowledge of construction and industrial products.
• Proficient with Windows applications
• Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks
