The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with a schedule that includes weekday evenings and some weekends; candidates should be outgoing, creative, and enjoy working with children and teens.

ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER / YOUTH PROGRAMMER — Maumelle Library

(10 Lake Pointe Dr, Maumelle, AR 72113) seeks a positive, proactive individual to join our team as Assistant Branch Manager / Youth Programmer.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position.

• Essential duties of this position include (1) assisting the Branch Manager with management functions such as scheduling, supervision, and staff development; (2) modeling excellent communication and customer service skills; (3) performing functions associated with a public library environment such as circulation, guest services, instructional assistance, and administrative reporting; (4) planning and actively carrying out a variety of activities for children, teens and families both inside the library and out in the community.
• Individuals should be outgoing, creative, and love working with teens and elementary-aged children.
• Activities include storytime, crafting, afterschool events, and other creative endeavors.
• This job also involves introducing and suggesting books and authors that promote literacy to families, as well as assisting with day-to-day tasks performed by library staff.
• Candidates must be able to reach, lift, push and pull up to 50lbs, and be able to stand for periods of time.
• Schedule will include working Wednesday nights and some weekends.

Pay starts at $19.00 per hour with excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave and holiday pay.
