Job summary

Hastings Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as Assistant Boys Swim Coach at Hastings High School. The ideal candidate will focus on the development of athletes and foster positive community relationships. Responsibilities include advising team personnel, coordinating athlete training, and modeling a values-based coaching philosophy.

The position compensates $4883 for the 2026-27 season and is focused on making a positive impact on the school community.

Qualifications

• Successful high school and/or collegiate level coaching experience, and/or related educational leadership experience.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.

• Advise, coordinate, and support athletic personnel for Varsity and JV teams.
• Coordinate instruction and training of all athletes in the sport.

• Advise, coordinate, and support the athletic personnel for Varsity and JV teams under the guidance of the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and Principal.
• Coordinate the instruction, training, and development of all athletes at this level in the sport.
• Model a transformational, purpose-driven philosophy and a holistic definition of success.
• Commit to personal development and collaboration and display a values-based approach as a coach who develops people first and then the athlete.
• Coach the athlete first, then the skill, and coach for the student-athletes before themselves.
• Make a lasting, positive impact on the school community and provide meaningful, rewarding personal coaching experiences.
