Job summary

Richmond High School for the Arts in Richmond, VA, invites applications for an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. The position is part-time with a stipend, starting immediately upon approval.

Responsibilities include planning in-season practices, coaching athletes to improve basketball skills, assisting with coaching staff, coordinating equipment and facilities, and ensuring safety and compliance with VHSL and district rules. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage athletic activities sanctioned by VHSL.
• Bilingual skills to include Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule a regular in-season program of practices.
• Coach individuals to develop basketball skills for competition.
• Assist in the selection, assignment and evaluation of assistant coaches.
• Collaborate with the student activities director on uniforms, equipment and supplies.
• Oversee maintenance, safety and cleanliness of uniforms, equipment and facilities.
• Adhere to VHSL policies and RPS regulations.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship at all times.
• Issue and collect school properties used.
• Plan for an annual recognition program for qualifying students.
• Perform other related duties as required.
