Job summary

Richmond City Public Schools John Marshall High School in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach for the upcoming season. This temporary, part-time role supports VHSL-sanctioned athletic activities and reports to the Principal and Student Activities Director.

Responsibilities include planning and scheduling practices, coaching athletes, assisting in selecting and evaluating assistant coaches, maintaining equipment and uniforms, and promoting sportsmanship and safety per VHSL

Qualifications

• Coaches must be licensed teachers or have VHSL permission.
• Must demonstrate ability to develop and manage VHSL-sanctioned athletic activities.
• Bilingual skills to include Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport.
• Assists in the selection, assignment and evaluation of assistant coaches.
• Oversees or helps oversee maintenance, safety and cleanliness of uniforms, equipment, supplies and the facility or area to be used.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.
• Plans for an annual recognition program for qualifying participating students.
