Job summary

The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland, MD is seeking a dedicated team member to support behavior intervention plans for students with developmental disabilities. You will work under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst to implement BIPs, collect data, and assist with assessments.

You will collaborate with caregivers and staff, participate in team meetings, and engage in ongoing professional development. This in-person role follows a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1 year of related experience.
  • Associate degree with 2 years of related experience.
  • High school degree or GED with 4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Collect and accurately record behavioral data during intervention sessions.
  • Aid in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and ongoing progress monitoring.
  • Provide training and support to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.

The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school dedicated to providing year-round educational, vocational, and daily living services to students in grades K-12. What to expect.

You will work under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst to implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and provide support to students with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Collecting and accurately recording data on client behavior during intervention sessions.
  • Assisting in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and ongoing assessments to monitor progress.
  • Providing training and support to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques and intervention strategies.
  • Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

What we need from you.

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience.
    • Associate degree and 2 years of related experience.
    • High school degree or GED and 4 years of related experience.
  • Must meet Sheppard Pratt's requirements to operate a company vehicle:
    • Be 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
    • Have a valid driver's license.
    • Driving record with 2 points or less for the most 3 recent years of driving history.
