Job summary

Trinity Washington University is seeking a dynamic part-time Assistant Basketball Coach for the women’s basketball team. The role is based in Washington, DC, and supports the Athletics department in all facets of the program.

The candidate will assist in practice planning, player development, recruitment, and academic monitoring, while fostering team morale and ensuring compliance with regulations. Prior coaching or playing experience at college level is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated success in coaching basketball at the collegiate or high school level, and/or as a basketball player at the college level.
• Bachelor’s degree and previous recruiting experience is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of game rules and coaching techniques.
• Leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach with all aspects of the basketball program.
• Design practice plans and lead skill-development drills.
• Recruit student athletes and monitor academic performance.
• Mentor athletes and foster team morale and cohesion.
• Coordinate team travel logistics and camps.

Trinity Washington University seeks a dynamic part-time Assistant Basketball Coach for the women’s basketball team. Trinity Washington is part of the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association).

Responsibilities:

• Support the mission and vision of Trinity Washington University and the Athletics department. Ability to comply with all department rules, regulations and protocols.
• Assist head coach with all aspects of the basketball program.
• Prior player experience preferred.
• Conduct player evaluations at the beginning of the season, coach players of all skill levels.
• Help design practice plans, lead skill-development drills, and teach sport-specific tactics on the floor.
• Foster team bonding and team morale.
• Assist with team practices and conditioning sessions.
• Serve as a mentor to athletes, helping resolve academic and non-academic issues.
• Provide support and encouraging feedback to team.
• Monitor academic performance and general behavior of student athletes.
• Recruit and coach student athletes regularly and ensure that all student athletes take part in practice sessions regularly.
• Assist with team travel logistics, equipment inventory, and summer camps or clinics.

Qualifications:

• Must have demonstrated success in coaching basketball at the collegiate or high school level, and/or as a basketball player at the college level.
