Job summary

American Heritage Schools- Palm Beach Campus seeks a qualified Assistant Athletics Coach- Basketball to join the Athletics Department. The Athletic Coach instructs and works with athletes to prepare them for games and competitions.

The role includes assisting with practices, teaching game fundamentals, promoting sportsmanship, and coordinating with other coaches on techniques and strategies, while supervising students and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in coaching specific sports is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparing and conducting individual and team practices, pieces of training, and competitions.
• Teach and instruct all aspects of the game
• Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes
• Works with other Athletic Coaches in general and specific coaching procedures, methods, and techniques.
• Provides technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport.
• Assign specific positions and come up with drills and organized game strategies.
• Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, and on buses
• Encourage student participation and establish rapport
• Maintain equipment and uniforms
• Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations
• Other duties as needed.
