Assistant Banquet Manager
The Assistant Banquet Manager is responsible for pre-planning, preparation and execution of banquet events. These events include meetings, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, receptions, weddings, etc. The Assistant Banquet Manager assists the Banquet team in creating a positive & memorable experience for event guests through exceptional quality and service. The Assistant Banquet Manager must be extremely organized and have a keen eye for details.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews Banquet Event Orders at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted. Provides detailed assignments to Banquet Captains and reviews Banquet Event Orders with them at start of each shift.
- Oversees banquet service operations and ensures that all service details take place as dictated on each Banquet Event Order.
- Assists with training of newly hired Banquet Associates.
- Meets with Group Contacts to discuss event programs, timelines and group activities, etc. Acts as Resort liaison for event vendors.
- Partners with our In-House Audio Visual team to ensure requested AV equipment is provided as ordered
- Maintains presence on the floor during events, monitoring Banquet Staff, adhering to timelines and ensuring guest satisfaction. A quick thinker who is able to multitask, make decisions and adapt when necessary.
- Responsible for the performance of the banquet staff, including direct supervision of the banquet staff during their shift. Provides leadership to the staff in the absence of the Banquet Manager.
- Works closely with the Catering Manager, Culinary Team and Banquet Manager to ensure food presentations exceed expectations.
- An innovative thinker who enjoys being creative with buffet displays, signage, and food displays. Constantly trying new things to keep us on the forefront of modern and efficient service.
- Is educated on common food allergens and takes note of any dietary restrictions, as stated on the Banquet Event Orders.
- Collaborates with other departments within the Resort to quickly resolve issues and ensure complete guest satisfaction.
- Attends BEO meetings and other department meetings as needed to discuss upcoming events
- Maintains all banquet equipment and facilities in an organized, clean & safe environment.
- Communicates any areas of need, problems, and concerns to Banquet Manager.
- Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
