Job summary

The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office in Boston seeks an Assistant Attorney General for the Privacy and Responsible Technology Division to pursue major litigation on consumer protection issues involving social media, data security and privacy, and emerging technology.

The successful candidate will lead investigations, engage in discovery, depositions, and motion practice, collaborate with state and federal partners, and contribute to educational and policy initiatives protecting privacy

Qualifications

Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar or eligible for admission in short order.
At least three (3) years of complex litigation experience preferred.
Clear and persuasive written and oral communication skills and legal research capabilities.
Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams with varied experience levels.

Responsibilities

Litigate major matters involving social media platforms and children.
Investigate and litigate data security and privacy matters.
Handle discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
Collaborate with state and federal enforcement entities; negotiate resolutions in public interest.
Support educational and policy work to protect privacy and security.
