Job summary
Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy in New York seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support LIU Brooklyn Women’s Basketball, focusing on the health, wellness, and performance of student-athletes. The role includes injury prevention, assessment, treatment, first aid, and coordination with medical staff during practices and games.
You will communicate with athletes, coaches, doctors, and administrators to ensure effective care.
Qualifications
- CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program is required.
- Current BOC Certification is required.
- Must be licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer in New York State.
- CPR/AED for professional rescuer required.
Responsibilities
- Assist Head Athletic Trainer with injury prevention, assessment, treatment and first aid.
- Perform initial on-field assessments of acute injuries and coordinate follow-up care.
- Communicate with athletes, coaching staff, parents, doctors, and administration.
- Maintain records including accident reports, treatment charts, daily logs and medical history forms.
- Supervise rehabilitation protocols and ensure compliance with NCAA, LIU, NATA and NEC rules.
