Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the Head Athletic Trainer with clinic operations, emergency care, and injury management. The role includes on-field assessments, rehab, and coordinating communication among athletes, coaches, and medical staff.

The ideal candidate holds a CAATE-accredited AT degree, BOC certification, NYS licensure, and CPR/AED for professional rescuer, with experience in NCAA/NATA/NEC compliance and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program.
• Current BOC Certification; NYS licensure; CPR/AED for professional rescuer.
• Clinical preceptor training and NCAA/LIU/NATA/NEC compliance knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online medical databases.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Athletic Trainer with clinic operations and emergencies.
• Conduct on-field injury assessments, first aid, treatment, and rehab.
• Coordinate communication between athletes, coaches, doctors, and administration.
• Supervise rehabilitation protocols and maintain treatment records.
• Cover home and away practices/games and assist in program development.
