Job summary

Merrimack College is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to assist the head athletic trainer in daily operations of the athletic training room and sports medicine area. You will contribute to prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries for student-athletes in a Division I program.

Qualifications

• BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) required.
• Massachusetts State License – Athletic Training (Active or in process).

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite care and management of injuries/illnesses for student-athletes.
• Assess risk, perform ergonomic evaluation, and promote wellness.
• Make independent return-to-play decisions per licensure guidelines.
• Maintain written/electronic documentation of injuries, treatments, and progress.
• Communicate with physicians and coaches regarding injuries.
• Provide medical care per sports medicine SOPs.
• Collaborate with strength and conditioning staff on rehab plans.
• Foster diversity, equity and inclusion and NCAA compliance.
