The Assistant Athletic Director for Student‑Athlete Support Services (SASS) reports to the Senior Associate AD for Internal Operations and Academics. SASS is an integral part of student‑athlete retention and graduation efforts. This position is responsible for the overall leadership and oversight for all functional areas of the SASS program at the University of Idaho. The Assistant AD for SASS provides leadership in implementing best practices and seeking innovative approaches for student‑athlete academic support and academic advising, while cultivating the intellectual and career interests of the student‑athletes served. The position spearheads the successful development and application of department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations. This applies to policies and procedures as they pertain to student‑athlete academic progress toward degree. The incumbent will be a member of the Athletics leadership team, providing updates and coordinating with coaching and other Athletics staff regarding student‑athlete academic success.
