The Department of Foundational and Clinical Sciences (FCS) at Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine (FCoM) at Belmont University invites applications for a full-time, clinician educator in Internal Medicine. Clinician educators are primarily responsible for the development, delivery, and assessment of a case-based, student-centered curriculum for pre-clinical medical students.
The Assistant, Associate or Professor of Internal Medicine will contribute to the academic mission of the medical college through excellence in clinical care, education, research, and service. This position involves delivering high-quality instruction across the first two years of the curriculum, by integrating with other foundational and clinical disciplines to promote a system-based and patient-centered approach. This role is expected to mentor learners and engage in scholarly activities that advance the field of internal medicine. This role will also be participating in curriculum development and departmental initiatives to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-eligible faculty appointment in the Department of Foundational and Clinical Sciences. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Tenure-track faculty are evaluated on performance in teaching, scholarship, and service consistent with the Belmont University Faculty Handbook and College of Medicine criteria for academic advancement.

Terminal degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
Required: Demonstrated expertise in internal medicine principles and their clinical applications. Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, or medical school level. Commitment to innovative pedagogy and integration internal medicine with other foundational and clinical sciences. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment. Preferred: Experience in medical education within an LCME-accredited institution. Fellowship training in areas such as cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, infectious disease, or hospital medicine. Record of scholarly productivity (peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or educational innovation in internal medicine or related fields). Familiarity with internal medicine teaching technologies, such as virtual clinical simulation tools, e-learning platforms, and active learning methodologies. Experience with curriculum design, assessment, and accreditation processes, particularly integrating internal medicine into systems-based or case-based medical curricula.
