A leading educational institution is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance for a 10-month full-time tenure-track position. This role involves teaching finance courses, conducting research in a dynamic educational environment, and supporting the growth of the Finance Program. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. and possess a keen interest in fintech and related fields.
Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance, Department of Accounting and Finance, William G. Rohrer College of Business – 10-month full-time tenure track position.
Department and College Information:
The Finance Program at Rowan is one of the largest and fastest growing undergraduate disciplines in the William G. Rohrer College of Business (RCB). In addition to the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Finance, the Department of Accounting and Finance offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, MBA concentrations in Accounting and in Finance, a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Accounting, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Accounting, and FinTech Concentration in B.S. in Finance. The College of Business in general and the Accounting and Finance Department in particular are highly active in research and scholarship in line with the university’s evolution towards becoming an R1 research institution. The RCB currently subscribes to several platforms and data bases, including WRDS (e.g., Compustat, CRSP, Audit Analytics, Execucomp), Capital IQ, and Bloomberg – to support its research active faculty. The College is committed to investing in research support tools for faculty, including new databases and travel support funding.
Within the department, the Finance Program looks to provide students with challenging career-oriented undergraduate and graduate preparation needed to acquire the knowledge and skills to be successful in finance careers and to pursue graduate studies. The Finance Program prepares students for a variety of career opportunities within financial institutions, governmental agencies and private industry. The Finance Program is supported by a Bloomberg trading lab which houses 12 Bloomberg terminals, the largest lab of its kind among New Jersey institutions of higher education. The Finance Program also aims to enhance the integration of computing technology and analytical skills through curriculum and pedagogical development, while continuing to build the finance, leadership, and communication skills that the profession demands. We continuously evaluate our curriculum and have recently introduced new course offerings in the area of data analytics. We have a strong program of professional development for our students, welcome teaching innovations, and have excellent ties to the regional professional community. The new faculty line will enable us to enhance existing course offerings in the undergraduate and MBA programs and support the newly launched Master of Science in Finance program.
Position Description:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, maintaining an active research agenda in a related area, participating in assurance of learning activities, mentoring upper division students, engaging actively in department, college, university, and professional service, and participating in business outreach activities. Teaching assignments may include principles of finance, financial management, investments and portfolio analysis, fintech, international finance, and financial institutions and markets. While courses are offered using various delivery modes, including traditional classrooms, hybrid, and online, candidates are expected to teach face-face, in-classroom from our Glassboro, New Jersey campus.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB accredited institution by August 31, 2025, is required. Research and teaching interest infintech, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and big data areas as well as international finance is considered a plus, as is prior experience in undergraduate, graduate, and online teaching and professional certifications in finance (eg., CFA, CFP, etc.). We briefly seek excellence in teaching and demonstrated potential as a researcher.

The Rohrer College of Business (RCB), which is accredited by the International Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), has approximately 2,000 undergraduate and 160 masters’ level students. The college consist of three departments, including the Department of Accounting and Finance, the Department of Marketing and Business Information Systems, the Department of Management and The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Significant enrollment growth has been experienced in the major, as well as across the RCB and Rowan University. We expect continued strong enrollment at all levels.
