Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
Position responsibilities are to teach, supervise clinical experiences, and advise students in a Master’s and/or Specialist level CACREP accredited clinical mental health and school counseling program. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: teaching courses in CACREP core and counseling specialty areas; providing clinical supervision to students; producing a focused line of research leading to publications in refereed journals and to external funding; advising/mentoring students; working with faculty in the Counselor Education program and with those entities affiliated with the program; recruiting for the program; participating actively in professional organizations and university committees, and continuously improving the program.
Qualifications
Doctorate in Counselor Education; emphasis and work experience in clinical mental health or school counseling preferred; graduate of CACREP accredited program; NCC certification; eligible for licensure as a Professional Counselor and Board Qualified Supervisor in Mississippi or your state of residence; evidence of clinical competence, successful teaching experience, and potential for excellence in scholarly achievement (e.g., research, publications, and presentations); demonstrated potential for leadership in school or clinical mental health counseling.
