• Develop, deliver, and assess MSW courses including generalist and specialist classes
• Assess student learning in courses and across MSW competencies (EPAS 2022)
• Participate in MSW accreditation goals and activities
• Teach courses in the program including online asynchronous formats and in-person residencies at Moravian’s Bethlehem campus
• Collaborate in team-teaching and interprofessional education, within SoBach, CoH, and the university
• Identify and develop new courses and concentrations in response to workforce needs
• Engage in partnership activities and serve on committees and advising per faculty handbook

POSITION SUMMARY:

Twelve-month, tenure-track or clinical(non-tenure track) assistant/associate professor faculty positionin the Master of Social Work Program. The individual will haveteaching, advising, course development, and serviceresponsibilities in the MSW program and across the School ofBehavioral & Community Health. Faculty hired in a tenure-trackposition will also have scholarship expectations. The individualwill also have service responsibilities within the framework of thebroader School of Behavioral & Community Health, College ofHealth, across the University, and to the social workprofession.

Faculty in SoBach and the CoH are also expected to collaborate inteam-teaching in any of the SoBach programs; participate inaccreditation activities and interprofessional education acrossSoBach and the CoH; and assist in all aspects of program andcurriculum design, development, implementation, assessment, andadministration. The individual will work with the MSW ProgramDirector to determine the possibility of launching new courseswithin the areas of specialization, or revising existing courses tosupport the areas of specializations.

Preference will be given to individuals with both face-to-face andonline teaching experience, as well as clinical supervisionexperience. Applicants should have the ability to teach in at leastthree of the following subject domains:

• Research (methods, design, & application)
• Macro social work practice (social welfare and social policy;organizations and communities; social justice in action; GrandChallenges of Social Work)
• Clinical social work practice (direct practice withindividuals, families, and groups)
• Healing-centered, trauma-informed practice
• Anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADEI) in socialwork practice
• Human behavior in the social environment (HBSE)
• Field seminars, field liaison

The required start date is January 11, 2027. Candidates will needto be prepared to teach in the Spring 2027 semester, which requirespreparing course materials as needed before the semester begins onJanuary 18, 2027. The Master of Social Work (MSW) Program is housed within theMoravian University School of Behavioral and Community Health(SoBaCH) and the College of Health (CoH). This school has a missionof training students in a multicultural and social justiceframework. The interdisciplinary College of Health emphasizescollaboration and interprofessional education across three units:the School of Behavioral & Community Health, the HelenBreidegam School of Nursing, and the School of RehabilitationSciences (which includes graduate programs in Athletic Training,Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-LanguagePathology). By combining an entrepreneurial spirit and a uniquecurricular structure, students and faculty are able to engage withone another across disciplines in a truly interprofessionaleducational environment modeled toward best practices in theclinical setting. This collaborative environment is designed tofoster student learning and engagement while avoiding thetraditional discipline-specific silos that impede learning.

The mission of the MSW Program is to create educational andprofessional opportunities to educate and train healing-centeredclinical and macro practice social workers dedicated toanti-racist, anti-oppressive practice, with a commitment toenhancing the lives of all people, locally and globally, throughinnovative and competency-based education. Our interdisciplinarytraining approach highlights theoretical, applied, field-based, andtopical knowledge, allowing students to specialize in working withmarginalized populations as clinical social workers or macro-levelpractitioners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successfulcandidate will have the following responsibilities and roles.Please note that this is not considered an all-inclusive list, andmay change over time, in particular as the program is developed andin response to accreditation or institutional needs.

• Development, delivery, and assessment of courses within the MSWprogram, including both generalist and specialist courses.
• Assessment of student learning in individual courses as well aswithin the social work competencies (EPAS 2022) and the curriculumas a whole;
• Participation in MSW accreditation goals and activities;
• Teaching of courses in the program as designated by the programdirector, including the ability to teach in the highly interactiveonline asynchronous format, as well as availability for monthlyin-person weekend residencies at Moravian’s campus in Bethlehem, PA(three weekends per Fall & Spring semester);
• Development and participation in team-teaching,interprofessional, and collaborative aspects of the program, withinthe School, the College, and the University;
• Available for collaboration across the School of Behavioral andCommunity Health, as determined by the Dean;
• Identification and development of new courses andconcentrations as the program grows, in particular, in response towork-force needs;
• Quality participation in partnership activities with internaland external partners to ensure the success of the program;and
• As defined in the faculty handbook, service to the institution,including serving on committees, attendance at faculty meetings anduniversity ceremonies, advising of students, and other items listedin the handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An earned doctorate (e.g. PhD, DSW), preferably in Social Workor a related field;
• A masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accreditedprogram. Candidates from CASWE-accredited and ISWDRES-evaluatedprograms are eligible, but will need to submit a copy of theevaluation letter or MOU with CSWE;
• Minimum of two years, full-time, practice experience in socialwork;
• A current LSW or LCSW in Pennsylvania, or eligibility andwillingness to obtain licensure within four months ofappointment;
• Previous post-secondary teaching experience in both online andin-person courses;
• Demonstrated commitment to a multicultural/social justiceframework, and a willingness to cultivate anti-racist, diversity,equity, and inclusivity (ADEI) in all aspects of education,advising, and assessment;
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communicationskills; and
• Evidence of scholarly record or solidified research interests(tenure-track appointment only).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Five or more years of full-time professional experience as asocial worker post-MSW;
• Familiarity or experience with and capacity to contribute toCSWE reaccreditation processes;
• Experience with course design for online and in-persondelivery, including at the masters and bachelors levels ofeducation;
• Proficient in online learning platforms, hybrid learning, andonline andragogy, as well as experience in educating adult learnersin an accelerated educational format;
• Demonstrable expertise in effective, innovative approaches tosocial work education, practice, policy, and/or research;
• Proven track record of service delivery, teaching, scholarship(for tenure-track appointments), and/or clinical work in at leastone of the program’s specialty areas; and
• Membership in at least one regional or national social workorganization.
