Essential Functions

This Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position serves as the Director of the Doctor of Social Work (DSW) program and plays a pivotal leadership role in the administration and advancement of the program. Key responsibilities include marketing the program and actively recruiting prospective students, overseeing the admissions process, and assigning incoming students to appropriate cohorts. The Director will teach three doctoral seminars/undergraduate courses and summer courses annually, evaluate comprehensive exams, and participate on all dissertation committees to ensure academic rigor and consistency. Additionally, the Director ensures timely completion of all requirements for students’ "Application for Admission to Candidacy", manages student concerns and requests, and provides mentorship and support to faculty teaching within the DSW curriculum. This position requires a strategic and student-centered approach to program management, academic leadership, and faculty collaboration. Anticipated start date is August 16, 2027.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD in Social Work or a Doctor of Social Work.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctor of Social Work preferred. A strong record of research and experience in education, including teaching using various modalities. A demonstrated record of significant community engagement is also preferred. Additionally, evidence of ability to build collegial working relationships with colleagues across multiple disciplines, campuses, and the community.
