Essential Functions

This Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position serves as theDirector of the Doctor of Social Work ( DSW ) program and plays apivotal leadership role in the administration and advancement ofthe program. Key responsibilities include marketing the program andactively recruiting prospective students, overseeing the admissionsprocess, and assigning incoming students to appropriate cohorts.The Director will teach three doctoral seminars/undergraduatecourses and summer courses annually, evaluate comprehensive exams,and participate on all dissertation committees to ensure academicrigor and consistency. Additionally, the Director ensures timelycompletion of all requirements for students’ “Application forAdmission to Candidacy,” manages student concerns and requests, andprovides mentorship and support to faculty teaching within the DSWcurriculum. This position requires a strategic and student-centeredapproach to program management, academic leadership, and facultycollaboration. Anticipated start date is August 16, 2027.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD in Social Work or a Doctor of SocialWork.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctor of Social Work preferred. A strong record of research andexperience in education, including teaching using variousmodalities. A demonstrated record of significant communityengagement is also preferred. Additionally, evidence of ability tobuild collegial working relationships with colleagues acrossmultiple disciplines, campuses, and the community.
