The Glioma Immunology and Microenvironment Evolution Laboratory within the UCSF Brain Tumor Center has an Assistant, Associate or Full Specialist position available, and highly motivated individuals with laboratory research experience are being recruited. The emerging laboratory has established collaborations with additional experienced laboratories within the UCFS Brain Tumor Center and has contributed to innovative, translational research of brain tumor biology. The Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist position is advertised to facilitate the biologic aims of translational clinical trials and preclinical experiments to identify and deliver novel molecular therapeutics to brain tumor patients and understand how the tumor evolves in the setting of these treatments. This position will be responsible for cell culture, molecular biology (RNA and DNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, protein extraction, recombinant DNA manipulation), gel electrophoresis (DNA and protein), immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, light field microscopy, data analysis, mouse husbandry, pre-clinical therapeutic animal experimentation, single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing analysis, lineage tracing expertise.

Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicants experience and training.
