Job summary
Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBI) is seeking an Assistant/Associate General Counsel to provide legal advice across banking, contracts, governance and regulatory matters. You will draft and review agreements, perform legal research, and advise internal clients including executives to ensure compliant, pragmatic solutions.
The role requires a JD, active state bar admission (Indiana preferred), and 3–5 years of legal experience with knowledge of banking and corporate law; full-time
Qualifications
- JD degree and state bar admission (Indiana preferred).
- Knowledge of commercial and corporate law; banking experience a plus.
- 3–5 years of legal experience for Assistant/Associate GC.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and draft contracts and transaction agreements.
- Conduct legal research.
- Advise internal clients including managers and senior leaders.
- Render legal opinions on bank matters.
- Assist with review/drafting of bank policies.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments.
- Assist with Corporate Governance and SEC issues.
- Participate in system-wide initiatives and working groups.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the General Counsel.
