ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR


EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP


The School of Education at Texas Woman's University (TWU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor or Full Professor level in Educational Leadership. Position is expected to begin in August 2025.


The School of Education consists of five divisions: Educational Leadership, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Literacy & Language, and Teacher Education. The Educational Leadership division offers the Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Leadership, The Texas Principal as Instructional Leader Certification and the Principal Assessment of School Leadership Certification Only Program, the Texas Superintendent Certification, and the PhD in Education, Leadership, and Organization degree. All courses in these degree and certification programs may also constitute a minor in other graduate degree programs.


ABOUT THE POSITION


The position is a full-time, 9-month tenure track appointment. Successful applicants must have a doctoral degree in Higher Education or related field. Must be well-versed in the foundations and methodologies of Higher Education, Educational Leadership, and have a minimum 3 years of leadership experience at either the K-12 level or the higher education level. The successful candidate must have appreciation for a multidisciplinary environment and a commitment to inclusive excellence.


Faculty will be expected to:



  • Serve as a core faculty member in the Division of Educational Leadership within the School of Education.

  • Teach graduate courses using different instructional modes (in person, hybrid, online) as needed.

  • Work with division colleagues to plan curriculum, align courses to state and national standards, and ensure that we meet the needs of our students efficiently and effectively.

  • Develop a program of externally funded research and publications.

  • Disseminate research findings in academic journals and academic conferences.

  • Participate in divisional, college, and university committees.

  • Support the division's student recruitment initiatives.

  • Embrace a data-driven approach to instruction, program evaluation, and decision making.

  • Advise and mentor master and doctoral level graduate students.

  • Support the university's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success.


Required Qualifications for the Assistant Professor Rank:



  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Higher Education or a closely related field.

  • A minimum of 3 years of campus leadership experience at either the K-12 level or higher education level.

  • Emerging research agenda and record of publications in scholarly journals that relate to the applicant's field of expertise in Higher Education or related field.

  • Potential for seeking and securing externally funded grants.

  • Experience integrating technology in educational settings and willingness to implement virtual teaching simulations.

  • Ability to mentor graduate students with research projects and dissertations.

  • Ability to provide test preparation workshops for each of the tests taken by principal and superintendent candidates.

  • Capacity to engage in community/university partnerships.


Additional Required Qualifications for the Associate Professor Rank:



  • Established research agenda and record of publications in scholarly journals that relate to the applicant's teaching and service

  • Documented experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students with research projects

  • Documented evidence of securing externally funded grants

  • Advising of doctoral students and chairing dissertations


Additional Required Qualifications for the Professor Rank:



  • Established research agenda and record of publications in scholarly journals that relate to the applicant's teaching and service at national or international level in their field of study

  • Established experience chairing dissertations


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Biliterate in English and Spanish

  • Experienced in Qualitative and Quantitative research, methodologies, and theoretical frameworks.

  • Experience integrating immersive technologies in the classroom with emphasis on augmented and virtual reality

  • Experience integrating virtual teaching simulations (Mursion)

  • Demonstrated experience teaching, mentoring, and advising non-traditional students and being sensitive to their educational needs

  • Documented evidence of working with communities of varied backgrounds
