Job summary

Touro College of Pharmacy seeks an Assistant/Associate Director of Practice Experience and Pharmacy Professional Development to lead experiential education programs in New York. The role blends administration with faculty duties, shaping IPPEs and APPEs, coordinating preceptors, and aligning with accreditation standards.

The position emphasizes teaching, service, and scholarship, with collaboration across departments and external partners to advance student education and community health

Qualifications

• The applicant must hold a PharmD degree.
• Post-graduate training (residency or fellowship) and academic experience are preferred.
• Prior experience as an Assistant Director of Practice Experience or similar role for at least 2 years is preferred.
• Must be eligible for licensure or currently licensed as a pharmacist in New York.
• Certification in immunization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate practice experience courses and grade submission to the registrar for the full complement of experiential program.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, preceptors, and affiliate organizations.
• Support the Director of Practice Experience on resolving experiential issues that arise.
• Lead IPPEs, APPEs, and Practice Experience Course Reflections/Grand Rounds.
• Maintain quality improvement programs and ensure accreditation compliance for experiential education.
• Recruit and retain preceptors and experiential sites.
• Provide orientation, schedule students, and oversee evaluations.
• Represent the College to external stakeholders including preceptors and state boards.
• Develop preceptor orientation and training (live and web-based).
• Participate in community wellness events and health screenings.
